PETRONAS Twin Towers, together with the Kuala Lumpur Tower (KL Tower), are the iconic skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur.

Whether you are arriving from the airport, by car or by bus, you know you are approaching the city center when you see the towers from afar.

PETRONAS Twin Towers stand at a height of 451.9 meters (1,482.6 feet) and each of the tower is an 88-storey structure.

Even though the exterior of the towers are cladded with steel and glass, reinforced concrete is the primary material used in its construction.

From the planning phase, the entire structure takes almost 4 years to complete. The opening ceremony of the towers was on August 31, 1999 and it was officiated by the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad.

Today, the PETRONAS Twin Towers are still the tallest twin towers in the world. They were the tallest towers in the world until the record was superseded by Taipei 101 in 2004.

PETRONAS, the state oil company, its subsidiaries and associate companies occupy Tower 1 while multinational companies take up office spaces in Tower 2.
